Camping Recommendations Needed
I've been reading this forum because I'm in the market for a leather sofa. However, my family is considering a camping trip (tent) to the D.C. area. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice location? Has anyone been to Lake Anna?
I will definitely try to squeeze in a jaunt to The Keeping Room to see Duane's vast selection of H&M. I live in the Chicago area and there's barely anything in the showrooms!
Thanks!
Re: Camping Recommendations Needed
Campgrounds are few and far between around here, due to the population density. I know there is a KOA campground in Fredricksburg, about 30 miles south of the city, and lots of places in the national parks and forests out in the MD and VA mountains (90 minutes out). There may be others closer in as well but I'm not really a camper so I don't follow it much.
Lake Anna is a large man-made lake dug as cooling water for the nuclear power plant located there. They do have a park there as well. There's a hot side of the lake (exhaust side), and a cold (Intake) side. Not much of a view, the lake goes in and out over several miles and most lakefront areas have second homes on the shoreline.
