Re: Living Room Layout Help
The layout is good, however one thing I would recommend is to not box yourself in with a chaise on each end. You will feel like a hamster in a maze getting up and going to the refrigerator. Better to use a chaise on the far end, then what we call a bumper ottoman on the side next to the kitchen. That mimics a chaise, but you can push it around, even down to the fixed chaise to make a day bed, Here's an example of a custom I did a few years back using two bumper ottomans.

Wait until you are in the house with your Sectional in the room before you put that blockade up that would be the sideboard. And even then, before you buy a piece, place and object there that approximates the size and see how you like walking around it. A mistake is to cram too much into small spaces, there is elegance and grace in "less is more". Slow steps in adding pieces, and no ottomans underneath the sideboard, that's too much.
Get good barstools, don't skimp there. Those will be very high-use pieces and should be strong and comfortable. Even though your drawing shows four, make sure you allow good space between the barstools as no one wants their elbows banging into each other while using. You may be only able to fit three, depending on space. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I actually already own the chaise lounges, but the modular couch is set up differently right now because the current living room is more square. I have been concerned about the hamster effect. We can try it out and then if it's too cumbersome to get around we can take the dumper route as you suggested.
Re: Living Room Layout Help
Using cardboard boxes cut into the floor measurements of your furniture and laid out in the room is a good cheap and easy way to get a feel for what it will be like.
