Difference between Recliner and Lounger
After reviewing H&M e-catalog, I notice some chairs are called "Recliner" (model #1037, Castle) and some are "Lounger"s (#7100, Rodeo). Is there a difference in the mechanics or construction? I am looking for a rugged recliner and have had it with Lazy B pressboard stuff.
Re: Difference between Recliner and Lounger
The terms are holdovers from the 70's and 80's. Back then a "recliner" was a motion chair you operated with an outside lever to push forward or pull back, and a 'lounger' was a new-fangled mechanism that did away with the lever and you simply pushed back on the arms to operate, and kick down with you feet to close. In 2013, they mean the same thing as all the lever-typed recliners are long-gone for the most part.
