My winter project
I like to fix up old motorcycles out in the garage, and picked up this old BMW R75/5 from 1973. It doesn't run, the carbs are stuck and it needs some TLC. Only 27K original miles, which for a 43-year-old motorcycle is pretty good. These old BMW's are affectionately known as 'Airheads' and have a very dedicated following. In its day, this was BMW's top-of-the line motorcycle, but it looks small and dwarfed by my 2014 R1200GS in front of it. And it IS small !

First order of the day, get the two carburetors un-stuck. This bike sat for over 8 years, and the prior owner never drained the fuel, just parked it. This is what a carb looks like when you do that, full of a black mucky varnish that takes a few hours to clean up.

After I get the carbs rebuilt, I'll pop in a new battery and points/plugs/condensor and see if it runs!

Re: My winter project
Hey Duane,
I don't know much about motorcycles, but my friend Univ takes old motorcycles redesigns them and sells them to celebrities and such out in Los Angeles.
He's company is called Powerplant Choppers. You should check him out on Facebook. You might find it interesting....
