Hancock and Moore Mechanism
I managed to break the swivel mechanism on what I believe to by my Hancock and Moore Director's swivel chair. I hope to attach a photo to this post. Love this chair, and I've had it for several years. I can't even remember where I bought it. Will you sell me a new mechanism?
Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
The Hancock and Moore 1207 Director's Chair (no longer offered) was usually made with a screw-jack mechanism, however your photo shows a pneumatic lift set up. In order to get you the correct base I have some questions:
1) Did the chair move up and down when the lever is depressed?
2) Is there a serial number on a white label laid over the top of the HANCOCK AND MOORE label ot the bottom of the chair?
3) Do you have the original production tag or a sales receipt for the chair?
4) if none of the above, a few more photos including one of the entire chair upright and another side shot of the underbase.
Yes, I can order the part, we have to make sure we get the correct one. Will be around $ 300 shipped.

Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
I fear that I'm as bad with my reply as I am with tracking this down. I think my last reply was deleted. I can find no H & M documentation, but I'm certain I would've bought this brand because I love it so. I've attached photos. I love this chair, and hope to keep it.
Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
That's not a Hancock and Moore Director's chair, see what one looks like here. Note the button tufting differences and the arms.

If there are no labels on it anywhere under the chair, i don't think it's H&M, i don't recognize it and this is the problem with older units where no paperwork is around to document it. Plus, those were not usually pneumatic lifts on H&M for that style chair. Having said that, if you want to order a generic pneumatic lift mechanism we can do that. Price is $ 150 + $ 25 shipping for $ 175 total. There is no guarantee of fitment of use and it would not be returnable, however.
Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
Thank you for this. I'm sorry for getting us down the wrong path. I've attached a schematic, do you have a generic pneumatic lift mechanism that matches this generally? If so, yes I absolutely want to purchase one.
Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
Sorry, I do not. Some of these lifts are fairly generic however, you can buy this one off Amazon for not much money - if it doesn't work you're not out much.

Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
the link you sent me is just the pneumatic lift. I want to purchase the entire pneumatic lift swivel mechanism with the wheel base and attach it to the chair. I will make it work. Please advise how I can purchase one from you.
Re: Hancock and Moore Mechanism
You would have to go here and pick out a base you like from one of the chairs shown. There are screw-jack bases and pneumatic lift ones. Once you select one as shown, I can price it out for you.
