Re: Finding Quality Furniture at a Modest Price Point
While, yes, Ethan Allen's products are certainly still above the quality of anything I have bought thus far, their recent reputation demonstrates to me that they do not stand behind their products, and are becoming more used car salesman-y than used car salesmen. But that was all hearsay, not empirical in the slightest. Again, more internet chatter than a holistic understanding of their current products/customer service. Still, I haven't found such anger and vitriol being spewed at any line drcollie carries. But perhaps EA has just very very poor PR skills.
Re: Finding Quality Furniture at a Modest Price Point
I have a very slim tolerance for manufacturers and makers that don't put out a quality product and won't stand behind what they produce. I have a reputation in the trade for being 'picky' with my manufacturers, but fair. I call them out on things if need be and if they don't respond in a positive way, they are dropped from my store lineup. That's why I don't have a lot of customer complaints in the lines I sell - I screen them all to avoid that as much as possible. Some may not like the price points of the lines I carry - but you can never have 'cheap in price' and quality made together, it just doesn't happen in this industry.

Some of EA's case goods are still made in America. I purchased a large TV console from them and was pleased with the transaction, delivery and quality.
