Re: Wood finishes
LOL!! How true that is!! My husband totally is a one-and-done hunter. I've been pondering and gathering for the past 3 months. I put my order in this morning and I'm STILL pondering and gathering! Duane, do you love it when a man walks alone into your store?

Re: Wood finishes
Provence, jake8! It has that contrast you're looking for, ties your woodwork together, and it has flecks of stain the same color as the java leather. It looks great with it!!! Trying to upload photos.

Re: Wood finishes
Hi, Jake8.
This is off topic, but I'm curious about the collection I see organized on those kitchen shelves near the window. Little McCoy or Roseville pieces? Or, maybe tiny Fiestaware pitchers? What do you have going on back there? Whatever they are, the look very cheery!

Re: Wood finishes
TXCajun,
These are Shawnee miniatures, or minis for short. They were made by the Shawnee Pottery company in Zanesville, Ohio from the late 30's thru the 40's. They were made as souvenir items back then and many of them have little stickers on them from where they came from or little hand painted flowers, etc. I have collected them for years and when we built our house a couple of years ago, I had the cabinet maker make shelves for them. I also collect Roseville pottery. I think you can see a few pieces in the picture too! I am a true gatherer!

Re: Wood finishes
Oh Savannah, you're right! What a difference it makes to see actual samples. Of those, I like Provence the best by far. Now wondering if I can get Duane to change my order? Hint, hint.... are you there, Duane? Savannah, is Provence the absolute best? Want a little, but not a huge contrast. And a tad rustic.

Re: Wood finishes
Thanks for the explanation, Jake8. What a cheerful and meaningful spot! I did notice your Roseville pieces. Lovely. Y'all's kitchen/living space looks terrific.

Re: Wood finishes
I like provence the best too. There is only one other you may like, french pine. It is very slightly more brown tinged than provence and more rustic. I think provence looks perfect for your room ;).

Thanks so much Savannah. By the way, I have some nail samples if anyone is interested.
