Need help identifying this vintage chair style and advise on how to repair it please

Can anyone identify the style of this chair I purchased at a second hand shop? I think there is a missing part in the back. I would like to know what it is supposed to look like before I attempt to repair/complete it.

The chair is not missing anything, the seat cushion shown in the photo doesn't fit. This is a big project, you won't knock this out in a couple hours.
