I cannot figure out why I cannot adjust the height on my H & M Freeman chair. I took the casters off and tried to turn the adjuster but it appears welded wheeler it is. I’ve attached a pic to show what I mean. Thank you for advice. Attachment 13005

These can be confusing, but it's easy to adjust. You have the screw jack design. Put everything back together, then after you do that, flip the chair upside down on a carpet or rug, Do not loosen any screws or use any tools, the adjustment is just by hand. Then simply grab the adjuster ring and twist it left or right on the screw shaft, depending on if you want to go up or down in chair height. The unit is designed to not adjust when there is weight on it, so the easiest way to de-weight it is flip it upside down so it can freewheel.

Try that then, and then perhaps a pair of large channel locks to persuade it. If all else fails, you can order an entire new base.
For a new base, it would probably be better to use email to me at keepingroom@gmail.com. I will need the following:
Your name and address
Copy of the receipt from your selling dealer if you have it
If no receipt or model number / wood finish known, then two to three photos of the base and the chair itself so we can see which Freeman model you own plus try to identify the wood finish.
