Suspension Options
First post and just wanted to say hi!
I'm shopping for a new couch, something like the RH Maxwell but not made in China. I've looked at Casco, CoCoCo and even Leather Expo and while the prices are tempting I don't think any of them are what I'm looking for. I've wanted this damn couch for close to 15 years so I'm trying to do it right, even if it ends up costing a little more.
So here's my question. I found a local company, Couch Seattle that has several options that look good to me and everything can be customised. Which suspension system should I go with? Is 8 way still the gold standard or are there better options out there now.
Here's the place I'm looking at

Re: Suspension Options
It appears you may be doing internet shopping, as those are all no-showroom type companies. They are not known for building a high quality sofa (in general). I'm not familiar with couchseattle (never heard of it) but it appears they do have a showroom, you should go visit it and look at them in person if you can.
Yes, 8-way hand-tied is still (and always will be) the gold standard in furniture. The best build in that kind of style (in my opinion) is done by Hancock and Moore, and there are dealer showrooms throughout the country. Here's their Campaign sofa and chair which is in the style of the RH Maxwell:
