Wormy Chestnut

Picked up this wormy chestnut night stand, guessing 1920's?

Very nice piece ...My guess is more like the 50s as wormy chestnut was very popular then and some of the workmanship including the leather top insert looks like other furniture I have seen from those years. Do you have other evidence that is influencing your guess?

Could be 50's sure .. I was just thinking about the Chestnut blight, but I'm sure they may have had a lot of it laying around in the 50's? The home it came from has had furniture that dates from 1880 - 1960 so probably sounds about right. I got the nightstand and Tell City ratchet lamp for $65.
