Leather Brand Rankings

I came across this page I hadn't seen before that shows rankings for common leather furniture manufacturers. This is just one site and who knows what conflicts of interests there might be but I generally agreed with the brands I know about (although the brands that are links are ones they sell and I would probably bump them down one category).

I thought I would post it here to generate some discussion to see what people think and also I commonly see "is this manufacturer any good?" type posts and this might be quick directional guidance for someone and prompt further research into certain brands and specific models they are interested in.

That list from Leathershoppes had been around for 20 years and is biased towards the brands they carry. You notice I have never made such a list because of three reasons :

1) Brands and construction and marketing methods change often. What was relevant a few years ago may no longer be true.

2) Unless you disassemble each maker's piece which is Consumer Reports stuff, a lot of assumptions are made

3) I prefer to educate, rather then recommend. Learn about furniture and what makes one piece better than another. Yes, it requires more homework on the part of the consumer, but you get smarter on the topic, too!
