Hancock & Moore # 5842-1 Expedition Chair in Boston Tobacco / Crosshatch Toffee
I love this chair, for my taste and style its as perfect a leather chair as can be. I'm not the only one that likes it, because it literally sold 5 minutes after I brought it in from the truck - before the leather even warmed up on it. What makes this chair so nice is the striking good looks and the near perfect seating position. I'm 5' 11" and 260 lb, and everything about this chair is 'just right". Back angle is upright, but not stiffly so. Seat is roomy, springs and cushions are supportive and not too soft. This is a chair I could easily sit in for hours. My customer thought so too, and we are ordering a matching boot stool to go with it, in custom leathers.
This # 5832-1 Expedition is shown with Boston Tobacco GR 3, pure aniline from Italy (new intro leather October Market) in the main body, another new leather called Crosshatch Toffee (GR 5) on the in-back of the chair, and then I selected a suede, Sonoma Tobacco for the lower side panels. Finish is Mesa, Nails are AA / A and it has an Ultra Down seat in it. Check out those fat wrinkles in the hide in photo # 2, the side shot. When you see that - you know you have REAL Full Top Grain leather and not some processed and painted hide out of China. Yes, it does cost more.
Terrific, I am sad to see it go so quickly!

Fabulous chair! I love it!

Does having the back in Cross hatch Toffee make the whole chair Class V, price wise?
Re: Hancock & Moore # 5842-1 Expedition Chair in Boston Tobacco / Crosshatch Toffee
Technically yes, however if you buy through a dealer who knows how to navigate Hancock & Moore, then *sometimes* it can be done as a supplemental add-on vs the whole chair going to that grade. If the chair is 50% or more of the GR 5 leather, then it definitely will.
You can also achieve the same effect by using a single leather in the chair and having the inner back quilted - which was done on this Painter's Chair. Costs less, too. This is a GR 2 leather on the piece. Inner back quilting is $ 120 or so, depending on the dealer.

Re: Hancock & Moore # 5842-1 Expedition Chair in Boston Tobacco / Crosshatch Toffee
Is the cross hatch like an embossed pattern where the leather is 'dented' for lack of a better term? Or is like a strip of leather is cut out leading to different finish depths?
