Clean, condition, and dye?
Hi, what kit should I use for these 2 Leathercraft sofas? They’ve just come into my possession but seem to need a bit of TLC. They’re both structurally solid but dry and faded.
Is there a method to get the oil stain off the one?
Can these be dyed back to their original color?
Thanks in advance!
Kim

Re: Clean, condition, and dye?
Those are # 2670 Model Leathercraft, I have two in my own home in appx that color. Yes, you can get a DIY dye kit from Pam at www.damagedleathersolutions.com. She will custom color the dye for you, cut off the flag under the seat and mail it to her. The hair oil stain - you may not get that one out, that's a tight back and you have to work those kind of stains out from the inside of the hide. You can't get the hide off to do that. Talk to Pam about it, she is the expert.

Thank you so much!
Would talking to Pam about the dye kit be my first step or do the sofas need to be cleaned and/or conditioned first?
Re: Clean, condition, and dye?
Talk to Pam, she's the owner of that company and can fix you up with everything you need. A dye kit to do (2) sofas is going to be $ 100 or so, and you will need to do 3 to 4 coats on each to tone them, followed by conditioner. I have re-dyed mine, its not difficult, but don't do it atop any carpet as if you drip any dye, its not coming out.
