Re: Hancock and Moore Ricki sofa / recliner leather issues
Hi Mr. Collie - thank you again for your guidance. I have connected with Stickley and thankfully they are assisting. I just want to check - it sounds like the wear on the welt trim you would consider normal (on the basis of all that you have taught me about finished leather above)? Thanks again - I will keep you posted!
Re: Hancock and Moore Ricki sofa / recliner leather issues
Correct, you are going to get friction wear on welt trims, especially painted finishes and if you wear a lot of high-friction blue jeans while using the pieces. Good luck, Stickly is a classy company, I figured if you got the right person they can help you out in some manner.
Re: Hancock and Moore Ricki sofa / recliner leather issues
Hancock and Moore spoke to the supplier of Juno Leather and they are looking into things on topcoat loss. One thing the tannery told H&M was that they are seeing a spike in loss of topcoats due to Covid-19 and frequent use of hand-sanitizers which are alcohol-based.
That alcohol on your hands WILL remove the topcoat on leather, so be sure to wash it off your hands before you use your leather furniture at home.
