HM Sofa Advice
Hi,
I’m in the market for a new sofa in the style element of mid century modern. I’ve narrowed my choice between HM’s Bowery Sofa and Bakers Framework Loveseat. I love the baker piece but the price has made look at the Bowery. I would like to get everyone’s opinion on the Bowery Sofa from a style and comfort perspective? Also, I’d like to get one’s thoughts on the leather color, Kip Shell? Any idea on how it will age?

Re: HM Sofa Advice
I’m definitely not diggin’ the Baker sofa, I think the styling is strange and I can see that if I owned that I would have bleeding ankles and stubbed toes in a big way from whacking the outside edges and that sharp foot out front. What were the designers thinking on that?. Be sure to look at the practicality of a design and how it would be in day to day living. That one I would classify as almost hazardous.
The H&M styling is much more fluid and put together. Kip is fine, but you will have this sofa a long time so get what you like. For entry level leathers, my favorite is Nirvana - how that is justly a GR 1 price is a mystery to me, it looks and feels far more expensive. I just ordered a Hancock and Moore Tufted Bed for the showroom yesterday and spec’d it in Nirvana Linen with Bark wood finish - that’s how I’d do that Bowery sofa, too.
