Anybody owned Ralph Lauren leather chairs or sofas and if so what's your opinion of their quality? Know who manufactures them? They're ungodly expensive!
They will use different manufacturers for various parts of their line, and spec the build. They will also change manufacturers as well. You are paying for the art and design as much as you are quality. Even if you could pin down the maker of a specific piece, you could never buy it direct or even a piece close to it from the manufacturer.
Is there anything you don't know, Duane? Thankfully for all of us, I don't think so! I'm sold on H & M but was just wondering why the RL furniture is so damn expensive - obviously because it has his name on it.
Well. the same reason a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt costs 2x as much as a Nautica. Because they can get it due to the fashion nature of the piece. Furniture is as much about style and fashion as it is about durability. And there is a certain segment of our society that likes to buy brand names/logos because they know they are getting either a style of that money, or a specific quality, etc.
Besides, Ralph needs to add a few more cars to his amazing car collection <G>
