Here's what happens to your leather when you don't clean/condition it

These are photos of two Hancock and Moore # 8102 Richmond chairs that were purchased in 1997 from Mastercraft Interiors (they went out of business in 2006). I had an email with these photos attached asking me for help in repairing them. See how the leather is cracked and actually missing at the top of the arms? Also how dirty the leather is? They were used in a commercial office and never cleaned or conditioned. The leather is long ago out of the H&M line, so the choice is to 2-tone them with a supplemental hide or simply get rid of them and buy new.

I have H&M I bought in 1986 in my own home that looks excellent, but I keep the leather cleaned and conditioned. Do the maintenance or ruin it! It only takes about 10 minutes every 6 months....
