New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
This promotion was introduced at the High Point Market earlier this month, and is now active. I have an advance copy of the promotion and can now take orders off it (so can any other dealer for that matter). However, it has not yet gone to the printer so if you go to another dealer, its likely they have not yet heard about it or seen it. It will still be some time before this is mailed out to the other dealers. The frames and leathers you see in the promotion will be shipped in two weeks time. That's right, 2 weeks. You will of course, have to allow for transit time either to a store or to you via white glove service, however its still much faster than we could ever do before. Does it work? Yes it does...I ordered a 8131 Austin High Back sofa in the program and it was landed to my store in 15 days. Pricing is quite friendly though I can't post prices - sorry. You can get a price by filling out a quote request here on the forum - be sure to add in your post JUST IN TIME or 2 WEEK SHIP PROMOTION.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Duane,
In the TC program the Woodbridge is in Alberta or maybe Doument. In this this new program, the Woodbridge is in Viking leather. From what I have read in the forum, Viking is not aniline but finished. Do you regard Viking better than you regard Document or Alberta?
Thanks

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
I don't necessarily think the Viking is better per se, however I will say it appeals to me more than the others. It's going to be a matter of what you like. Document and Alberta have more sheen to them - quite a bit more - and Viking is more a matte finish, and that makes it appear more like an aniline leather. Document might be a little softer, however in the dark browns it's also very splotchy and that's a look I don't particularly care for. I think folks coming into my store will respond well to the Viking leather and for sure they will like the price point.
Here is a photo of the three Viking hides used in the Promotion.

Is this picture of the 4825 West End Chair shown in Alberta Harness? Based off your brief description of the Document & Alberta leathers, I think it looks like an aniline on the pictured piece. If not an aniline, Alberta looks like it's pulling it off quite well!

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Ok Duane, searched around & found this from a thread:
"They are buying into the Alberta leather program on that recliner. For some reason I had thought it was a GR 2 leather. The Alberta program is not one I have inventoried, mainly because its the cheapest of the cheap Chinese leathers and quite honestly I don't care for the hide. $ 1,300 per chair is a fair price in that program, if you like the leather no reason not to move forward with it."
This is H&M we're talking about, & so far I've only fell in love with the Parisian sofa in their line-up(I probably need to peruse their stationary seating a bit more honestly,) but I love knowing their the pinnacle & really would like to look more into their tufted ottomans as a coffee table option.
With that said & based on my B&Y leather hunt; I think you already know I'm an aniline girl ALL the way!! Lol
Slightly off topic: I can't believe that B&Y 9567 is really a full aniline?? It has almost no "real leather" feel to it, any leather smell it has is negligible & its subtle "wrinkled & worn" finish with the applied pull up color burst effect is all just too fake looking for me. I wouldn't be happy with that on something as small as a wallet...so, I'd REALLY hate it on something as big as a chair! Lol
Scratch out Alberta as a leather I'd be interested in getting an H&M ottoman in! Now, do you or anyone else know what particular leather that West End Chair was/is pictured in? Because I do like it & would consider it for the ottoman.
Thanks :)

I have no idea what hides those splash photos are done in this promo, this all just came to me at 3 p.m.yesterday. It's not even 'official' yet!

Lol, yea I get that. But, that "slash photo" of the West End Chair can't possibly be in Alberta, right? Just going off your description of it: that chair looks too good to be in the cheapest of the cheap leathers. Perhaps, it's an older stock photo? I'll try searching around & seeing if it's pictured similarly with a "shown in..." descriptor.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
The West End chair (not the sofa) is in a Pull Up leather such as Tuscany or Tiburon.

I thought it looked like a pull up!
Uh, really wish they would put those descriptions in fine print under each piece. I'm sure there's got to be a few ppl out there originally leaning towards going the "Quick Ship" promo route that would prefer their piece exactly as it's shown in the picture & ultimately choose THAT leather rather than the Quick Ship promo leathers?

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Well, I've been fighting that battle for YEARS on having the photos the same as the inset photos for the promotion, i.e., the Town and Country program. Know the answer I get? "Duane, do you know how much that would cost to do that? We would have to make each piece up , then bring in the photographer and shoot it, and we can't afford that". And that - is the end of the conversation unless I'm willing to pay for it - and I can't afford it, either.
HOWEVER - that's why I have my photo library here on the forum and why I try hard to photo and database as many pieces as I can. That way you can see them. I already have one Viking piece in the files, the new Austin that rolled in last week. Over time, I will get many shots - but it will only happen as pieces come through the store...

Do they not have those original photos("splash photos" you called them,) databased somewhere? I'm thinking those are the same stock photos of the pieces that are on the website. Now, unless they wrote down what each & every piece was made up in at the time the photos were taken, inc nail trim option, etc this hypothetical photo library will be useless if no info can be pulled from it.
Lol, I'm not suggesting they go & re-shoot every piece! That'd be a daunting task, even for a subsidiary of Century Furniture; I'm just wondering if they have that sorta info cataloged with the original photo & if so, typing up a little descriptor under their current photos a la B&Y.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
We stopped in Duane's shop last Saturday to kill time before hopping on the Auto Train (he is really close - if you are taking the Auto Train to FL, consider stopping by his store to check out all the furniture on display) and saw a print out of the PDF on his counter top. We went over an looked at one of the display pieces with that type of leather (Viking) on it and it was nice enough to make us seriously consider changing our minds on what we plan to order in the coming months. We asked for a sample of the leather to be sent to us (it beat us back to Delaware less than a week later) and it is really a nice leather. GR II and soft feel. We were set on Tiburon leather (Peacock) but now we are thinking about the Viking Chestnut on the September sofa. The price can't be beat...I won't say what it is but I was SHOCKED at the price (I could buy 2 sofas for only a couple hundred more than ONE sofa in a GR III in the same style) and it made me think that I could live with the leather being 1 grade down for that much price savings.
So as soon as our move is completed and we ensure we have enough funds left over, it will be time to order some furniture up for the new place in FL.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
It was good you could stop by! Your new home in Florida looks lovely....
Yes, that new promotion is very aggressive in price, and the Viking leather is decent, I would not hesitate to recommend it for someone who wants H&M quality at a Bradington Young price point. It's not Tiburon leather by a long shot, but its not the price of Tiburon, either!

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Which of the four recliners in this program would you all recommend for someone that is 5'10" and 200-225lbs? My wife and I like the look of the Journey the best but are worried about the back being too cushion-y and I'm not crazy about the Document leather. Our second choice would be the Sadler and the Viking leather is better but I've also read this is a bigger chair and I wonder if it is too big for us.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Sadler! That's what I have at my house. I am 5' 11"
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Still figuring out furniture, so please forgive the question: In this program, the Ricki only comes in the two leather choices Juno Dove and Juno Soft Blue? No nail heads?
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Correct, those are the two program leathers. You can put it in any of the 500 + H&M leathers, however it will come out of the special pricing.
Nail trim is not standard on the Ricki, you can add it to the sofa for $ 135 extra (for basic nails, 1/2" round)

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
What is the quality difference in the leather selections on the Just in Time program versus B-Y grades? I really like the Equestrian GR-5 in B-Y.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
All furniture makers buy leather from vendors, there is a big leather buyer show in High Point this month, for example that all furniture makers go to in order to select new leathers for the October Furniture Market. So you can have several companies buy the same hide from a vendor (and this happens frequently) then they re-name it and assign it a number for their use. The reality is you can't say a H&M leather is better than a B-Y leather because none of them use proprietary hides.
Having said that, the H&M "Just in Time" promotion is using 'deal' finished leathers - ones they someone got a smoking hot price on from their vendor - whereas most the B-Y GR 5 leathers are pure aniline European hides. So for the most part, the GR 5 leathers from B-Y will be nicer overall than promotional leathers from H&M.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Thanks, Duane. Love the Equestrian leather from B-Y, but that Sami recliner is beautiful.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
I didn't see the 1080 Sami in the promo photos at the beginning of the thread - does it come in any colors other than Kip Bisque in the Quick Ship Program?
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
On the # 1080 Sami, you can have your choice of three Kip colors in the promotion: Bisque, Mocha or Wheat. You can also get it motorized, either plug in or battery powered.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Dang, none of the colors I was looking at for the ottoman! Was hoping to finally talk my husband into letting me get a recliner as long as we were shopping and the deal was sweet enough :)

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Duane,
Thank you so much for all of the information you provide--it's truly an education which I need to buy furniture.
I have seen the retail price list you posted for HM and I have read here about the 2-week quick ship program. The "2016 Town and Country" thread is from 2014 and is closed. You have stated that the T&C program is updated in July. Where can I find an up-to-date list of what is in the Town and Country program?
Also, I am from NC and not too far from Hickory. If I order a sofa from you, is it shipped to your store and then back to NC, or does it come from the factory to me?
Thank you!
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
The programs posted here on the forum are current.
You have to request pricing on them, their is no MSRP for either of the two H&M programs.
If you order from my store, you can either 1) Go to the factory in Hickory and pick it up yourself 2) We use a home delivery service that will pickup then bring it to you for a fee and install in your home.

Hi sorry for being all over place . The sami is not in the program brochure listed but you mention it in an additional followup.
What is the price of the sami in wheat or bisque and motorized using the quick ship program or is it just 50 percent off of msrp?

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
For price quotes, please us the Quotes form here in the forum. Prices are not quoted publicly as Hancock and Moore has requested that not be done.
Model numbers are always preferable to "names" when requesting a quote, it keeps pricing accurate that way. Thanks.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
This program continues to amaze me with the offerings and the pricing. I've never seen the Hancock and Moore brand more price-friendly than in this promotion. BELIEVE ME - I have asked repeatedly to be able to post prices, and each time it's met with a chuckle and "you better not!". So its awkward for you to have to put in for a quote, but that's the way it has to be. Sorry. I wish I could put out the prices publicly.
These are the same items as the full-line catalog build, and all standards are the same, there are no shortcuts taken. Limited leather choices, but the hides are OK, and its 100 % top grain leather all the way around the piece. I see this promo perfect for families just getting started that want high-quality, durable upholstery and have to make their purchase fit into a budget, or for a second home, or retirees on limited incomes. There is no dispute in the industry that Hancock and Moore is best-in-class in its field, and the issue has always been one of price. Well, that issue has largely been eliminated in the Just In Time grouping. You can get the H&M product for the price of many of those other brands that are made in China, or done out of thin plywoods with webbing suspension. It's a no-brainer if you know what to look for.
Here's three pieces that just arrived on this promotion, a September Sofa and Loveseat in Viking Cordovan (sold to a customer), and a Journey Lounger in Document Chestnut (in the store as of today's date). Yes, you can get the loveseat version in the programs, same price as the sofa. They look good! Take care of the leather on these with proper maintenance and you'll get 30 years out of the pieces, or more. That's how well-made they are. This is such a great value, don't think H&M is out of your price range - you may be surprised.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Hi Duane:
I have been researching H&M and came across the forum here. About 8 years ago, I didn't know anything about leather furniture and purchased a "leather" sofa and loveseat from a large department store. Long story short, the furniture ended up cracking and peeling within about four years, even though I live alone and do not have pets (I now realize that what I bought was bonded leather). Needless to say, I wasn't pleased and since it was no longer under warranty, I continued to use the pieces. It's now gotten to the point where both pieces have cracked and peeled so bad they are in dire need of replacement. I love the look and feel of leather, but as you can imagine, I'm a bit "gun shy" of buying leather pieces because I'm worried they may not last.
Obviously, these were nowhere near the quality of H&M pieces so I'm assuming I'd be fine buying an H&M sofa and eventually, a loveseat. The questions I have are in regards to the Town and Country and the Just in Time programs. I understand these are promotional programs that use kits that come from overseas and are sewn on the frames in NC, but I haven't been able to determine if there is a quality difference between T&C and JIT (I"m assuming that there is a quality difference between the promotional pieces and non-promotional pieces regarding the leather given the price difference). If so, which one would be of higher quality, T&C or JIT? Also, (and I know you can't provide a definitive answer), in your opinion, if properly cared for, how many years do you think one could expect to get out of T&C and JIT pieces given my living situation (living alone, no kids or pets)? I saw in the previous post that you had mentioned around 30 years for the T&C if properly cared for, if I read that correctly.
Thanks
Chuck-

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Hi Chuck,
The issue you have experienced is that bonded leather really isn't leather at all, it's a leather by-product and actually closer to a plasticized vinyl. Once you make the move to a real top grain leather you won't have issues with longevity or durability, just do the Leather Solutions Kit maintenance twice a year and you should be good to go.
Most promotional leathers are Chinese tannery, finished - or painted - leathers. One is not appreciably better than the other in my opinion. Are they world-class hides? No, they are not. But they are light years ahead of bonded leather and genuine top grain and that's what you want. I can - and have - gotten 31 years out of a Hancock and Moore recliner in one of those leathers and it should go another ten to fifteen. Having said that, I have seen people trash a piece in less than five years, so there is no guarantee and no for sures - however the vast majority of my customers don't have issues with longevity on the pieces I sell in my store.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Hi Duane:
Thank you so much for your quick and thoughtful response; it helps very much! I should have mentioned that the back and sides appeared to be bonded leather while the seat cushions appear to be split (as opposed to bonded let alone top grain) leather but either way, I understand what you mean by bonded leather not really being leather.
I also understand what you mean by saying that there are no guarantee's if someone is trashing their pieces. I tend to take very good care of things in general and do not plan to treat whatever pieces I eventually purchase harshly. I just wanted to get some assurance from someone who knew these leathers that I could and probably should get a number of years out of them if I took care of them properly so I'm relieved to hear that this should be the case. Thanks again, I appreciate the response. One last question; since the quality of the leathers between T&C and JIT seems to be the same, is the real difference than simply that 1) the JIT can be built and delivered more quickly than the T&C, and 2) perhaps the leathers in terms of color and pattern offered may be different between T&C and JIT? Thanks.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
The Just In Time program features leathers they were able to get on a smoking hot deal from suppliers, that's why the prices are so good. Town and Country is a regular, day in and day out program that has been around for years and those leathers are standard pieces. Expect JIT to change from time to time as deals run out in certain hides and colors.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Effective today the Journey Lounger is no longer in the Just in Time promotion. I do have one on the floor that just arrived, so if you are local to the store and want one- it's the last one at that special price point.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
I am just getting my feet wet in your forums but can't thank you enough- learning so much! As far as the Hancock and Moore Just in Time program goes, is a sectional possible? I am likely missing something, but I saw above you mentioned you could order the loveseat version of a model, so I wasn't sure. Basically looking for a high quality leather sectional at a decent price point- not set on a particular color, so if I can get the price down by going through the Just in Time or T&C program that would be ideal.
-
Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
The items that are available are listed on Page 1 of this thread and likewise on the Town and Country thread.

Re: New! Hancock and More 'Just in Time' 2-week Quick Ship Program
Has Hancock and Moore added any motion sofas to the Just in Time program?
