Inherited H&M Club Chair & Ottoman - CAN THEY BE SAVED?
I am now the proud owner of this beautiful BUT damaged chair and ottoman. Wonderful design, leather is soft, but the care taken to keep it beautiful has been ZERO. Can this be saved? No rips or tears, leather not raised by scratches, but LOTS of them. Bad children ! Makes me so sad. Document Moss leather & color. Any advice to restore this beauty would be appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure this is Document? Document is a painted leather - that looks like Tiburon or Tuscany, a pull-up hide. The chair was used HARD. You can improve it. Cut off the flag under the seat that is about 4" x 4" and mail it to Pam at Leather Solutions International in NC. She will make you a dye kit for the aniline, and also get you a kit for oil and wax replenishment. The materials will cost you around $ 150 to $ 175. Then you can dye it and work the product into the leather. Probably can get to an 80% to 85% improvement. Send Pam the photos as well. Good luck

Thank you so much for the advice, I am going to do that tomorrow! I really hated to let it remain as it, it is a wonderful chair. Do you know where I might find out what type of leather it is? I have no original documentation.

Pam will be able to tell you what you need and ID the leather type once you send that into her business.

kathydingo,
That is a nice chair and I love that green color! In my opinion, that's a very handsome, deeply rich color. What I cannot wrap my head around is that children would be allowed to do that kind of damage. I can see it happening, once, but that damage looks like it was created over time.
Regardless, after you get those answers and attempt the restoration, would you post photos of the results, please?
