I have 2 chairs that my father says he has remembered growing up with (he's 50), so I figure they are older than that, I just can't place them anywhere. I don't see any manufacturer's markings (at least at first glance). The metal on it appears to be either brass or bronze, and with as old as it is, I am sure that the wood is solid.
Your father's 50, and he had these chairs growing up, so you know they're old. Well that's really not that old, at least I'd like to believe it isn't. Silly me, and I thought 50 was the new 30.
Wow - those are gorgeous. I really like antique furniture, but unfortunately I don't know much about these types of pieces. I just wanted to compliment. :)
