Oh I’ll just add that this was found in an estate sale where the house and contents were donated to charity, so I’m just trying to maximize what was found.
Thanks again
Hello all! I recently inherited a buffet, purported to be a Stickley, from around the late 1800's to early 1900's. It is interesting in that it has carved and tinted designs on the doors that supposedly were done by a Oriental gentleman that was brought here specifically for that purpose. By history, it fits with what I can find about Stickley in Grand Rapids MI. A great aunt worked for them and was gifted the buffet and a matching small occasional table on her retirement. However..... I can find NOTHING that looks like the piece I have and cannot find any labels that confirms this story.Attachment 11834 can anyone help?
Oops
Also, it's filthy and I would like to clean it but hesitate to use anything on the tinted door decorations. Sorry if I am doing this wrong, brand new member!!
For cleaning, use Mineral Spirits on a cotton rag, won’t hurt the finish and removes all build-up. Photo is poor....
I will try to get a better picture and put it on the site
