Advice on sofa selection for narrow family room
We are looking to re-design our family room with a new layout and a new sofa. We've drafted two layouts and would like some feedback. My husband is 6'4" and we have preferred the deeper sofas with high backs when we sit on them in stores. However we also like the idea of a chaise in addition to an ottoman/coffee table. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
Re: Advice on sofa selection for narrow family room
I think you are on the right track with the sofa layout, with one exception. Remover the end table next to the sliding glass door and set the sofa along the borders of the wall - and think about dropping down in size (Length) to 83" to 88". You're pushing that space a bit with the 93" + sofa. Skip the chaise design, that's not working for you. Two other things to consider, because you thinking of a chaise. 1) Get a dual-recliner power sofa (wall hugger) that will stay tucked in when not using it, and there to stretch out in when you want to watch TV. 2) If staying stationary, then consider eliminating the coffee table and using a cocktail ottoman there instead. They are just as comfy (or moreso) than a chaise.
