Fitting Evening sofa through a doorway
Hi, Duane! Can you tell me the smallest doorway width that the Evening will fit through? We are building a new house, and just got the plans back and I see that the front doorway is only 30". Would this work? It's a straight shot into the room once you get through the door. I'm pretty sure that we could bump it up to 32", but that is probably it due to a wall on the right as you come in. Thank you!
Re: Fitting Evening sofa through a doorway
I would absolutely not accept a 30" doorway for a main door in a new-to-be-built house. That has to be a misprint on the plans, no architect worth his diploma would do that. With a wall on the right side, you need an even wider door as you have limited maneuvering room otherwise. If that were my house, I'd want a 36" and if not possible, no less than 34.5". I can't tell you the minimum for a H&M 1667 Evening sofa however I would feel comfortable with a 34" door delivering one. The legs can come off that unit and that would possibly get it through a 32" though not guaranteed. A 30" is not going to happen. Good luck!

Well, it turns out I read the plan wrong! It's a 36" door. I'm relieved! Thanks for your quick response! :)
