Smile Kittinger Claw Foot Executive Desk

Hello! I am new to this forum, so please forgive me if this is not an appropriate place for my question. I was fortunate enough to take in a kittinger desk a few years back. It has seen better days, but not in awful shape. I started to take the pulls off in effort to clean and polish, but stopped myself before making any harmful errors to this beauty. I have no idea the age of this desk or what something like this is even worth? I struggled back and forth keeping it or giving it away. I wouldn’t mind trying to sell it if it is worth anything. I live in Michigan and don’t even know if there’s a market for this furniture or where to go to sell it. So I’m turning to you all in hopes there is somebody more knowledgeable about this furniture! I’m posting some pictures below. It’s very large and incredibly heavy. Thanks in advance for any help/info you can provide!

Older Kittinger Furniture is worth something, don't give it away or garage sale it. You did right to stop, unless you know what you are doing you can damage the piece so that it is worth nothing. If the desk is solid structurally, it can be restored. This company specializes in Kittinger and would probably buy it from you - I have no idea what price point and you would have to send them a better photo set to evaluate. Shipping from Michigan to Buffalo NY would probably have to be factored into the sell price. I would start here:

    https://kittinger.com/faq.html

If you are near Grand Rapids MI, then you are close to the finest American Furniture Maker in the USA today. Kindel/Karges/Councill. They are new furniture makers, but I can almost guarantee you that if you went there at lunchtime and talked to the workers, someone there would likely be able to guide you on a restoration in your area. You would spend some money on a good restoration, but them you would really have something. Fully restored that desk is probably worth $ 7,000 to $ 10,000. There is a demand for the product, but far less so when it needs to be repaired. Good luck.
