Hi all,
This is my first post(but I have been lurking for a while...)
I'm currently furnishing a new dining room and am looking for a good quality dining table with the following requirements:
-Large oval (rectangular would be ok too)
-needs to extend out to around 144" with leaves
-Double pedestal is preferable
-Style-wise looking for something Barbara Barry-esque. Nice lines and details but nothing too ornate.
I've looked through a lot of manufacturer websites(Baker, century, henkel harris etc etc) and haven't really found what I need. The size is the problem most extend to 120" max.
Can the high end manufacturers customize their pieces(i.e. add an additional leaf)?
Is anyone aware of any manufacturers that make large tables?
Thanks in advance!
nancy
Yes, dining tables can be custom-made. I know that Duane carries Treharn custom pieces. He's on vacation until Monday (if I remember correctly).

Duane also carries Councill which is more similar to Baker or Henkel Harris. Here is a table that is 144". There may be others on the site.

Thanks for the links so far! I didn't even notice the casegoods forum before I posted in the lobby section (oops!). I am intrigued by the custom work featured on this forum . Some of those Buchanan pieces are gorgeous. Something to contemplate... I guess I can find a table I like that's not big enough and have it "copied" to larger size... I'll be getting great quality and a unique hand-made piece.
12' is a large table, but it's nothing that we haven't done in the past. All of our pieces can be customized, and many without any additional fees. I hope this helps, best of luck in your search.
