Hi, Duane,
just received Austin 8134NB set today, they look beautiful. But we feel the seat cushions (standard) too soft for us. is it possible that we can exchange to extra firm +1 through our dealer? is it possible for H&M to ship the new cushions and we ship back the current ones? or it depends on dealer's willingness for this assistance?
thank you for your advice
Peter
Hi Peter,
Sorry, but due to state health department laws and regulations, internal cores cannot be exchanged or returned on any upholstery or bedding product. Once its delivered to the customer, no retailer or manufacturer can take them back.
You would have to purchase new firmer cores for your sofa which is going to be expensive. Ask your dealer to perhaps sell you a set at his cost + shipping (and if they agree then pay by cash or check and save them the credit card fees in return). They may or may not do that for you as a goodwill gesture, but it never hurts to ask.
Good luck,
Duane Collie

How about "extra full"? Is it just fill some extra stuff into "standard cushion"? In this case, there will be no "exchange" cores. Do you know if H&M would ship "extra stuff" to me through the dealer?
Peter
Hi Peter,
Actually the interior cores are much more complex that that are are made to order. The extra material inside the wrap to make it 'extra full' is actually under a muslim ticking, and encased. If you were to just stuff some more material into the seat casing, you would wind up with lumpy and mis-shapen cushions.

to my surprise, after sending a note to my dealer, the x-firm +1 cushions are at my door today just in less 2 wks. Putting the new cushions in, we feel much better than the standard ones. now the problem for me is how to deal with the 2 wks old cushions, throw away? H&M and my dealer really take good care of their customers.
Don't throw them out, they're expensive! Just hold onto them, you many want to use them at a later date. If not, someone here on the forum might want them for the price of shipping (cushion replacements are free only to original purchasers, someone buying an 8134 sofa off Craigslist for example, would have to pay for them).
