Burnished Leathers fall into the Semi-Aniline category for cleaning, so you're good to go. They use the "protected" leather conditioner. Has to be a little stronger to penetrate the glazing compound on the burnished chairs. Aniline conditioners are chemically not as strong. the Nubuck is suede..so you don't need that.

Be VERY careful with that ink remover. It will pull the color right out of things. Never rub with it, only blot with a Q-tip.

    Updated.

Both Hancock and Moore and my store have moved over the Leather Magic Products for leather care. Uniter's Corporation has gone bankrupt so many times that many of us have given up on their products.

What is the difference between the Nubuk/aniline kit, and Semi Aniline? They both appear to contain the exact same contents other then the fabric guard?

Which would I need for the Garfield, and burnished ottoman?

I need to order some of this stuff asap!

The difference in the kits is the penetration factor of the chemicals. It takes a stronger chemical to get through the finish on a 'protected' leather than one that is 'unprotected'. Semi anilines essentially use the Aniline kit.

You're going to want the Aniline kit with Garfield...

Ok. That should be fine for the Ottoman too? Maybe ill call tomorrow and order up a kit or two.

Cleaning monthly, and conditioning bimonthly, or every 3 months should be fine?

Is there such a thing as over cleaning? I figured I could clean it monthly with the leather magic cleaner, and condition every 3 months, unless that is over kill.

Do you recommend dry dusting between cleanings?

You can't overclean it, but you'll get tired of doing it after a bit <G>

I try to do my pieces at home every 6 months, when the clocks go on and off Daylight Savings Time. Its always on a Sunday, and a good reminder.

AZ has no daylight savings. We never change our clocks. But ill stick to every other month/3rd month due to the dogs.

Hi Duane, does H&M still recommend Leather Magic products or do they now recommend a different brand?

    Thanks!

The official recommendation is damp rag and ivory soap, they are very hesitant to recommend any particular cleaner/conditioner. Currently if one wants to use one, they are saying to contact Leather Solutions at 336-629-4998 for product.

I continue to use Leather Magic products for my customers and on my own pieces at home - which is what H&M did recommend a few years back.
