wow, that clears alot up. I will not be able to sleep tonight, driving family crazy. I had them close their eyes and feel each hide. They think I'm crazy now. lol. So back to going over what I like the feel of and what I think will hold up with the dogs! Talk to you soon

Our Hancock and Moore Tightmore (We changed from Ashmore as I prefer the back without a cushion) chair and ottoman in Columbia Coffee leather arrived the day before Thanksgiving. It is a Beauty! We love the leather and think that it has a very rich and luxurious look and feel. Our family, including our Interior Designer daughter, were very impressed. I'm so happy with our choice! Thanks to Duane and his expert advice!

can you tell me if camel colored leathers are more prone to show imperfections.. scratches etc than a dark navy leather??? I need to complement my chairs which are a wine color. present sofa is upholstered with a floral print.. camel background with wine and navy.. rug has navy and wine and lighter blue... also have navy check window seat..

It depends on the type of leather, not the color. A finished, or painted, leather will not show 'scratches'. Some anilines like Capri and Quintessence won't show marks.

What those scratches really are that you are seeing is pressure marks on pull-up aniline leathers that respond to pressure by a color-bust in a lighter shade. They are done that way by design.

Hello and thank you for the very useful discussion thread. I like the look and feel of the Columbia Acorn leather. How do the Dream (Tobacco) and Hutton Bark compare? Also, where do these hides come from?

Columbia is a semi-aniline out of South America.
Dream is a finished leather from China.
Hutton is a finished leather that I believe is from China, but not 100% certain.
