Flame Retardant

wa. just banned deca a flame retardent sprayed on furniture, beds and in computer exteriors... ! its a start too many toxic chemicals on everything we touch and eat. With all these nasty chemicals no wonder cancer is so high. The chemical cos. fight tooth and nail to keep selling their toxic products. Now the question is: how do you tell you have fire retardent bed or sofa???

They all have fire retardant in them, it's required by law. One of the ones more commonly used is Boric Acid, which sounds nasty but is generally considered as safe as table salt.

Royal Pedic makes a bed with absolutely no fire retardant in it, but they require a Doctor's Prescription (allergies) before they will sell it, as it would be consumed by fire faster than you can read this sentence.

The only mattresses and sofas that I have heard of that do not use chemicals for fire retardency use wool coverings. Apparently wool is a natural fire retardent.
