I've spent hours looking for a wooden extendable round dining table. Does anyone have tips where to get/order one? (I live in Los Angeles.)
I did find two tables whose design I like, but one is too low-quality and the other one is a bit too expensive and would take almost 2 months to be delivered to my place:
Here is the cheap one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40116777
Here is the other one: http://www.allmodern.com/Calligaris-...-E-GN1083.html
There must be an option in between? A similar-looking table that's under $1,000 and wouldn't take months to be delivered?
Thanks for any tips!
If you're looking for a sleek, modern, high quality table, I'm skeptical that this will work, but the table style you're describing has been around for a very long time. We had a table like that when I was a child - my parents found it, for cheap, stripped and refinished it, and we ended up with a very handsome, solid oak table. If you keep an eye on craigslist you may get lucky.
In the alternative, at that price point you could think of the Ikea table as the one you use for now while you try to find the table of your dreams.
There's a lot of work that goes into leaf extension tables. To stay under $ 1K for a quality table, I'd suggest shopping pre-owned.
