    Default April is BORING

Its no secret in the furniture business that April is the slowest month of the year. Spring has come, everyone wants to get outside - taxes are due - and families take Spring Break vacations. Its a real ghost town this time of year...even the forum posts have slowed to a crawl.

That makes it an EXCELLENT time to ask more detailed questions, because I have the time to answer them!

While I think about it, if you use the forum please help us out by clicking one of the ads you see at the top of each forum page. Visit our sponsor's sites and that helps pay the bills to keep the forum up and operating. Since we moved the forum to a faster server, costs to operate went up five-fold and by clicking on those ads it helps cover those expenses.

    Thanks!

    Don't tempt me..lol

I told myself I would not ask you another question for at least a week.

I think April should be "The official H&M throw pillow sale" Buy one pair, get 1 pillow free..

Duane - I love this post! Sorry I just came upon it!

I have questions. Should I post them here in the "April is boring" thread OR should I start a new thread with the specific heading?

One question here - Is May as boring? In other words, do you still have time for furniture related questions, even though April is now gone?

Here's why April is always the worst time of year in the furniture business:

    1) Spring. Everyone wants to be outside. The garden centers are packed.

    2) Taxes. April 15th! Many of my customers have to write a check, not get a refund.

    3) Spring Break. Kids are out for a week, time to go to the beach!

    Ask away!

April is anything but boring for me since I am a CPA in the tax business. But we all know about that. But April is also one of my top months for cash flows so the salesman whom I ordered a Stickley bookcase from on April 23rd must have been thrilled!!! Ever since I ordered that bookcase, I have been browsing the store looking over all of the Stickley and H&M products-my conclusion: When it comes to leather furniture, H&M all of the way!!!
PS: I am now curious, which is the second worst month for furniture sales???

I would say December. Because everyone is buying smaller presents at that time. Surprisingly, January is a strong month after about the 10th.....
