Default Hand-tied Coil Springs--Good or No?

I've learned here that hand-tied is preferable--is this usually done with coil springs?

Am interested in this reupholstered chair, but wanted to check first. Asking price: $550.

    Thanks.

No idea about your question..just wanted to say it is a pretty chair. I once had the same fabric in same color on a Camel Back sofa in a formal living room. It was beautiful and because it was neutral, it survived several redecorating projects.

Yes, they look like this under the seat deck:

Base is 8-way, and the backs are 4-way.

I think so, too, Monique! Good to know that you found the fabric versatile!

Thanks, Duane. So this is a vintage chair that was professionally reupholstered. Do you think it is worth $550?

    Here's the back of it.

If it sits well and you like it, I think $ 550 is not a bad price. That's the cost of low-end re-upholstery job on a broken down wing chair, so you'd be good to go for several years if this one was recently done.
