I have B-Y in my store as a secondary line to H&M, and I've been a dealer for them far longer, back to the mid-80's. I actually have more B-Y in my own home than H&M pieces! It holds up.
I think what you will find is that as to PERFORMANCE, B-Y will hold up just as well as H&M over time. The same way a Chevrolet will run just as long as a Mercedes. The difference between the two is in the 'art' of upholstery, the execution of it and attention to detail, and the style. H&M does every aspect better, and to a higher level. But that doesn't mean its going to last any longer or necessarily feel any better when you sit on it. I've addressed the differences in several posts here before (do a search) as far as the construction build and customer service, etc.
