Default thor larsen ovalia egg chair

i am trying to reupholster an original ovalia egg chair. i have stripped out all of the old worn out fabric down to the bare rough fiberglass. i am trying to adhere fabric to this rough fiberglass surface. i tried using 3m super 77 adhesive and mistys foam and fabric adhesive. with both of them i was able to easily pull off my test fabric after letting it set up more than 24 hours. i'm wondering if i'm missing some key element in the process that makes this not work. anyone have any ideas on how to get this velour fabric to stick to rough fiberglass?
    Thanks!

Wow....just when I thought I've seen it all.

I think rather than looking for a solution in the furniture industry, you'd be better off contacting a boating manufacturer. Very little furniture is gone in fiberglass, but there are a lot of boats made of it.
