Default How to Clean a Sofa

Last month I bought a sofa online. The main thing what I think is you have to plan for your requirement before buying a sofa and the shape and size as well as budget. If all those things match then you can plan for it. Now, talk about fabric, it is made up of complete soft wool and red smooth fabric. It's look wonderful. Now, one question to ask you that which cleaner or what type of cleaning method to clean sofa. I am confuse and fighting with wife over a cleaning of sofa. Kindly suggest me any solution.

Scotchguard it, then you won't have to be too concerned about cleaning. Renew the Scotchguard when water no longer beads up on the areas treated. All upholstery (for the most part) is Cleaning Cods "S" which is dry cleaning solvents only. Don't even let anyone steam clean your upholstery.

I'm puzzled about why a fabric with an S code that is polyester or another synthetic cannot be steam cleaned. Polyester and acrylic clothing can be washed with water. What happens to S code fabric when it's steam cleaned?

Manufacturer's do that to limit liability. If they said it was water safe and you steamed cleaned it, and the fabric either shrank or lost its body, you would be looking to have them replace the sofa. They don't want to do that so its safe for them to specify "S" code. That way if you clean it some other way its on you as the consumer, not on them.

Hard to say, that's why no one will commit to that particular fabric performance on a particular style of upholstery. I have seen people steam clean upholstery and ruin it - many, many times. Skirted pieces are particularly troublesome. Once that skirt is hit with the steam it loses its drape and won't lay flat. Do so at your own risk.
