ID:	4031I bought this chair at a local estate sale.
    Planning to reupholster it with leather.
    I really appreciate idea,suggestions and recommendations.
    Got a quote for 275 $ just for the labour to reupholster it,materials extra,told it will need 2 yards of material.

    $ 275 for labor is a DEAL.

    You buy leather in either hides or Square footage. That will need about 1 hide (assuming the back of the chair is not all-wood). Want it to look really cool - low use - one of the H&M Nubuck Suedes in color would be fantastic on that.

    Yes, they do. A single GR 4 hide like Nabuck will yield about 31 s.f. and something like Quintessence will yield about 60 s.f., so it varies. 2 yards is equal to 36 s.f. A Grade IV hide is $ 19.20 per s.f. and costs double that if cut to a specific size rather than buying a whole hide.

    If you don't mind taking a bit of a risk, you can buy leather on EBAY very inexpensively as well - but like most things like that on EBAY, it can be trash or treasure.
