Default Classic Leather Chesterfield- what's it worth?

Looking at a 25+ yr old Classic Leather Chesterfield, 94" long in excellent condition. The only issues are 4 buttons missing, and a small 1/2" tear, neither of which are very noticeable. Price is $1500.

So, is it worth this? Classic no longer makes a chesterfield.

    Thanks,
    Adam

I would add that my wife is a petite 5'1", so finding a sofa that fits her comfortably has been extremely difficult, and this one works very well for her with a 16" seat height and 21.5" depth. I'm willing to pay a but of a premium for a good fit for her, but fear this may be a bit much.

Buttons can be applied by a local upholsterer who can come to the house and do that for about a $ 100 service charge. You do have to have the buttons, however. If you don't have them, then Classic Leather may be able to provide them if you send them a leather sample. It require a special machine to make the buttons, that's not something you can do locally in most cases. As for the 1/2" tear, that is repairable for about $ 150 to $ 200 via mobile leather repair service.

No way I would pay $ 1,500 for a 25-year old sofa with missing buttons and a tear. Let the owner fix it and then buy it - but not for anywhere near asking price. As is, I'd not pay more than $ 300 for it. With that kind of age on it, the webbing and leather may not be in any kind of decent condition as well. While Classic doesn't make those anymore, Hancock and Moore does in several styles.

Thanks much Duane, after thinking on it more I was coming to same conclusion, so this really helps.

We're not set on a chesterfield, though we do like the wrap-around design and higher arms. Any suggestions on a sofa to fit my petite wife? Also curious what ballpark the H&M Chesterfield runs, though I am pretty certain it's out of my range.

    Thanks

H&M doesn't like me to quote prices in the forum, so I will just toss out there that if you had a budget of $ 4K +/- or so, you could probably own one. Your wife would like this one the best with the nice low seat height:

Thanks Duane. Do any of your other brands have a Chesterfield that would be at a lower price point?
