    Default Interesting roll top

This is an interesting roll top desk. It's very short and the roll top is exposed on the back and opens up all the way. Not sure about what type of desk it is as I cannot find anything similar. Only markings I can see is the 1901 patent plaque on one piece of wood. I think the piece with various compartments is an addition that is not part of the original design. (removeable). The small tray swings out unlike a traditional drawer. Pictures below with a couple more to come.

its a production piece built simply and of standard 4/4 lumber (oak) with plywood bottoms. While probably 100 years old, it probably has almost no collector value because the form is clunky and it doesn't have traditional woodworking joinery. Just one of the many thousands of pieces built for middle-class America.
