Hello, I am a newbie to this. I read your posts and then ordered the replacement gas cylinder from H & M --- as the store I purchased the chair from is now gone!

Now I have the parts but am unsure as to how to take the back of the chair off. The very bottom looks stitched. It doesn't look stapled. There are these brass things at the top of the back. I thought I could take it apart and fix it , then take it to an upholsterer to get it put back together.

    Thanks, Debbie

If you are unsure how to proceed, have an upholstery service come to you. Many can do it in your home and there is no need to take the piece to their workshop. Good luck.

    Mr. Collie,

I was reading on your forum regarding Hancock and Moore furniture. My strut on my Austin (guess) chair needs replaced.

    The information is the following: Bloc-o-lift 0187bc 0620n 057/93 20020011.

Do you have the part? How much? Do you accept credit cards? Should I call you directly or place the order through email? How long?

    I have already removed it.

    Thanks.

Hope you are doing well and are having an enjoyable weekend.

I just sold my last (2) gas struts on Friday of last week. I will order some more as I like to keep them on hand. Will take about 10 days for me to get them back in stock. Will advise back on this thread once I have them.

Gas sturts are back in stock. $ 60 each and $ 8 to ship Priority Mail. You may call the store with a credit card (703-360-6399) or paypal to keepingroom@gmail.com

In the mail to you, I found out I could get those struts in a USPS padded envelope that is flat rate so shipping is $ 7.00 less than putting it in a box....Thank you!

    Mr. Collie,

I received it on Tuesday. Thanks for adjusting the shipping. I installed it. It took 20 minutes including stapling the cambric underneath. From start to finish, it was an hour project at most if you have the product before you start.

Thanks again for all your help and keeping this site up.

Hope your weekend went well with everything.
