Yes the carving looks fairly decent for homemade haha but it does clean up nicely. I used LA's Totally Awesome cleaner with a brillo pad and went over with murphys oil soap. Decent results if I have to say so myself. Reason for the cleaner is the piece was in a home that used coal for heat and cooking and was abandoned for 15 years. I have saved the piece, I kind of wonder about a value? I'll never sell it due to my hoarding skills, but your mind always wonders.

The wood on that piece is Oak, and the carving looks applied, rather than carved into the piece itself.

So I finally got it in the house and have been cleaning on it with brushes, murphys oil, and awesome .. Looking pretty good! I found a stamp on the drawer but sadly I'm not able to make out what it says.

Fun part? The calendar came from Massey Harris - Ferguson a Canadian company!
