Forum is CLOSED to new registrations

We have experienced a relentless, sophisticated and determined hack into this forum, and our ADMINS are looking at way to close it off. Until such time as we can plug the holes on the forum, or upgrade to a newer version that might have the security locks we need, I have shut off new registrations to prevent this hacker from gaining access. Sorry for the inconvenience, but its the only way to keep them out for right now.

We have not been able to close out the intruder into our forum, they have some kind of 'back door' as an ADMIN into the management structure of the forum. Aaron and Gail are working hard to isolate them and block them out - but there are still gaining access as fast as we delete them off.

ADVISORY: If you get a PM or EMAIL from a forum ADMIN do not answer it with requests for personal information. We will not ask you as ADMINS for any information from you whatsoever. We don't know why this hacker has taken a keen interest here in the forum, but it could be to gain personal information from the members. Be on your guard until we can get this sorted.

Our Admins have successfully closed down the portals to the Hackers and we are running clear again. Though I can answer furniture questions, when it comes to computer security I am not well versed at all so I rely on our volunteer ADMINS who donate hours of time behind the scenes to keep the forum running smoothly and cleanly. This forum would be corrupt and unusable without them (and I cannot afford to hire a security firm to oversee this free forum service on a regular basis), so without our ADMINS (Aaron and Riddle) this place would probably cease to be here. We take a lot of things for granted, especially on the internet - but there is real work maintaining a site like this in the background. They are just as much to thank for members being able to access this site and get information at no charge, as I am.
