Default Question on Pull Up leather?

DUANE I have a leather question. The WESTON MOCHA leather on my yet to be delivered #1744 CHANCELLOR , is a PULL UP LEATHER.
Will the lighter burst of color be on the outside, face of the tufts , or on the area pull in with the botton? I had read post that the brown leather turn burgundy in the stretched area.

In a pull-up leather, the 'color burst' is wherever the pressure is applied to the hide. This will be where they stretch the hide and staple it to the frame (all hard edges) and some places around the tufting. Pull-up leathers are designed to do this, and develop a wonderful patina and look over time. A lot of people don't understand this kind of leather and refer to it as 'leather that scratches', but what is a scratch but a pressure point applied to a small area? Applying your balled up fist and rubbing briskly to that 'scratch' makes it go away because you are applying both pressure and friction heat to the area and reflowing the top wax on the hide (all pull ups have a waxy surface). Pull-ups are the most misunderstood of all the leather categories by the general consumer.
