Leather colors on matching items?

I am planning to add two leather pieces to a smaller room. Is it best to have the two pieces matching in color and style or is it workable to have similar items but in different color leathers say one brown and the other caramel?

There's no right or wrong on that, it really depends on what you would like in the room. The majority of people will opt for same/same, but that may be due to more to wanting to stay on the conservative side and not risk a decorating faux pax.

I like variation in a room. If you were to walk into my family room, you would find a Leathercraft 2670 Sofa in Hampton Roan (Mid-tone Brown with a hint of red overtones), a Hancock & Moore 1044 Sadler Recliner in Kipling Whiskey (Carmel color), and a Bradington-Young Loveseat (discontinued model I can't recall) in a pure brown leather. Clearly my wife and I don't focus on matching styles and hides!

I think you can create both a comfortable and smart look going either way.
