I sing with the local community college chorus. It's offered for music students, but since there are so few of them. Members of the community are welcomed. It is positively my favorite thing I spend time doing. One obligation that is positively NOT one of my favorite things is singing at graduation. Tonight, however, was different. The guest speaker was Dr. Jill Biden, community college professor and wife of Vice President Joe Biden. She gave a good speech -- heartfelt, well-organized, and not too long! It was amazing to have someone of her stature in our smallish town. Made sitting through the rest of it worthwhile, or at least an even trade! I stuck some reading material in my music folder, but the resourceful woman next to me brought her iphone, and she was able to discreetly amuse herself with games during the way too long ceremony.

One point Dr. Biden made is that we should never stopped learning. I learned that I need to bring my iphone next year!
