I'm trying to decide between the City Chair (9842) and the Austin tilt (shorter, 2032NB). Both with ottomans. Does anyone have any wisdom to offer? I'm thinking about buying a City sofa also. I'm not to picky about the chair style matching the sofa. But I wouldn't want it to clash, either.
I do want comfort. I know the Austin is comfortable. I normally don't like bustle chairs but the Austin really isn't bad. It's pretty classic-looking w/ the addition of a couple puffy areas. Kind of like a premium leather chair version of a puffy coat in zero degree weather... If you care about function (not freezing) over form, you're gonna choose the puffy coat.
I've sat in a City chair and thought that was comfortable too, tho I'd probably add a small cushion for my lower back.
Both are a good height and depth for me. (I'm 5'4")
Please help me decide!
p.s. If it helps, I do a lot of reading and a lot of knitting.
Those are two totally different chairs in the way they sit and the way they look. The 2032 is a tilt back, so right off the bat that gives you a significant comfort advantage over the fixed back on the City as you can adjust the back angle to any pitch through the range of motion. 9 out of 10 people will say they prefer the way the Austin sits to the City as well. However, the City has cleaner and more crisp styling lines. Depends on if you want to bias towards a certain look or a certain sitting comfort?

I think I'm the puffy coat type. Thanks Duane!
