    Default Hooker power reclining sofa

Does anyone have experience with Hooker furniture? I am looking at this: http://www.furniturelandsouth.com/Ho...a-DZ83551.aspx and wanted to know if Hooker is a good manufacturer.

Hooker is 100 % made in China, and does not have the best reputation for that kind of piece. They do own Bradington-Young, which is USA-made and done to a much higher standard, however it will be twice the price of that unit you are looking at. I suspect that piece is made out of either bonded or bicast leather, and if it is....RUN....don't walk - away from it. They don't tell you what kind of leather is on it, but you only want to buy top grain leather, and thats hard to come by at that price point.

Looks like the top is leather with vinyl on the back and sides. How would you compare this to something similar from Flexsteel?

Chinese-made furniture is Chinese-made furniture. It matters not the brand.
