Hello all I am wondering if the Leather solutions is still the primary recommended product. This thread was originally started several years ago. I have two Top grain , protected, leather sofa's and a chair. I am assuming I would need 1 kit for each sofa? The Leather solutions kits are a little pricey any alternatives? Also could someone explain the process.. Do you first wipe down the sofa with the cleaner then then go over it all again with the softner and protectant? Do you use the cleaner even if you don't see any stains? Or do you just use the cleaner on spots and then the other products on the entire sofa? Do you wait a period of time between applications of the different products? Thanks for any help.. Gina

Yes it is current. Directions in the box, it's very easy. Always use cleaner, you don't want to add product over dirt. Everything dries quickly.

Thank you. So for a brand new sofa do I need to do all 3 steps? Or just wait a few months?
Also how much do I need to worry about sunlight fading or drying out leather. I do live in Arizona and it just starting to heat up.
The sun does hit the sofa at certain times of the day...
Thanks for everyone's help. I hope everyone is staying healthy during these challenging times...

Personally, I did not do the cleaning step when it was new. I started the protection when it was a few months old. I later recieved a mini kit from H&M who recommended starting it when the sofa was a year old. I don't think it is going to hurt, of coarse, to start protecting it from the beginning, but if you are worried about cost of the product you might want to wait a bit. I was more worried about protection and I started before I recieved that kit from H&M with the recommendation to start a little later.

Going to have to order a new cleaning kit. We cleaned 24 cushions and two ottomans yesterday. All three steps. Hope all are staying in and are well.

No need to do anything on a new sofa for at least three months, perhaps a simple quick wipedown with a damp cloth is all.

Direct sunlight (UV rays) will be very hard on any upholstery, fabric or leather and take the color out. Always have Low E windows installed in the home, or some form of solar tint or shades applied to window that are not Low E.
