We had this office not furnished for almost two years. Now it is time to have it set up. Could anybody please give me some suggestion how to fill up this room efficiently? We don't need much furniture but would like high quality. Currently there is a 30 gal fish tank on the right side of wall. We would like to keep the fish in the office. I have attached a room's layout. I think we need a computer/writing table, a bookcase/shelf either tall or low at minimum. Will it be good idea to put the book shelf on the left side close to the window?
This is pretty easy. Build bookshelves all along the 12' wall, incorporating the fish tank in the center, if possible. The bottom of the bookshelves can have doors to hide clutter. Try to hide the power charger station and the computer wires.
Put a 7' desk or table next to the window, parallel to the 12' wall, or in other words, at right angles to the window. Place a desk chair on either side of the table desk, and another pull-up chair on the 5' wall. Use the 11' wall for art, photographs, degrees, etc.
Carpet the room, put long draperies on the window with sheers to control glare, and doors at the entrance. This will help quiet the room.
Bingo, you're done.
