    Default Aniline Stains Fade

We had our new Bradington-Young 912-80 recliner sofa clad in their Grade 5 Elmotique Red Oak (9085) aniline and are pleased with it. Inevitably, we stained it, and tried to regard it as "worn in," as opposed to "ruined forever," but it still hurt.

The first stain was a small piece (dime sized) of chocolate that I'd sat on previously then ground into the seat cushion when I sat on the leather sofa. I cleaned it with water as soon as I noticed, but figured that was that - a dime-sized dark permanent stain. Oddly, however, the stain almost immediately began to fade, and within a week was completely gone; there's no evidence that I can see that there was ever a stain. The next stain was a cashew nut - again sat on. We wiped at it with a watered rag and again saw that it left a stain, but again, within a week, the stain was completely gone.

Is this odd behavior for aniline or does it all work that way?

All anilines work that way, the stains usually work themselves out. Two tips 1) Get the Leather Soulutions kit and once you put the PROTECTANT on it, most things will bead right up. 2) Don't water scrub any leather stain, just blot it up and leave it be. The less water, the better.
